About us

The CFA des métiers de la Communication Multimédia et des Arts Graphiques is an apprenticeship centre for professions in graphic arts and multimedia communication. It was founded in 1991 by the CNA-CEFAG (Centre de Formation aux Arts Graphiques, a graphic arts training association) to guarantee young trainees a recognised qualification for visual communication professions and facilitate their employment.

In just a few years, the CFA has been able to meet the needs of the profession, thanks to the outstanding efforts made by its entire staff and the involvement of a network of firms:

  • by creating adapted training courses: a range of vocational training certificates;
  • by progressing from 15 to 400 trainees.

  Training

Through block-release training, as part of an apprenticeship contract, trainees can obtain both a qualification and work experience in two years.
They will have acquired:

  • a professional level and experience in a firm;
  • a level of general training enabling the trainee to develop and adapt to any changes in the profession.

Motivation

A dynamic team, sharing a passion for the visual communications professions and for teaching, with the following goals :

  • enable the trainees to succeed in gaining a real qualification, designed hand in hand with firms, while developing a sense of responsibility and initiative;
  • continually adapt the training to the requirements of the job, through reviews of existing qualifications.

Provide the kind of learning environment in which every trainee can:
  • master the material, programmes, networks and systems that enable rapid and efficient communication in a dynamic firm;
  • gain an understanding of conventional techniques and master the computerised tools of the trade.
This presupposes:
  • a dynamic partnership with firms, not only at the national level, but also at the European level, within the framework of research programmes;
  • a collective project, committed to quality.

  Initiatives

  • facilitate access to apprenticeships, in cooperation with European partners, for handicapped trainees;
  • design and organise new courses in the field of Multimedia and Computer Servicing;
  • develop relations with firms so as to monitor the trainee, keep abreast with technology, and collect the apprenticeship tax;
  • create a multimedia job observatory;
  • undertake initiatives to guarantee quality.

  Funding

The creation and development of the CFA have been possible thanks to:

  • the support from and contribution by the Paris Regional Council;
  • the revenues from the apprenticeship tax, paid by firms.
